When school cafeterias close for summer, millions of American kids lose the breakfast and lunch routines that kept them fueled. FoodHatch’s Summer Hunger Awareness Walk turns that quiet crisis into a visible, hopeful morning—families, teachers, pantry partners, and donors walking together to fund meal kits, mobile pantry stops, and community kitchen hours that fill the gap.
The route is a friendly loop designed for all ages and abilities, with rest stations, hydration, and story boards explaining how crowdfunding gifts become summer food. Walkers can raise pledges online before race day or make a same-day gift at the finish celebration, where local organizers share real numbers from last year’s summer campaigns.
This is not a timed race. It is a community statement: hunger does not take vacation, and neither do the neighbors who choose to show up. Bring your crew, wear comfortable shoes, and help keep FoodHatch summer causes moving toward their goals.
